The beginning...
Drömhus is Therese Grankvist.
Therese grow up in a swedish town called Nässjö, but she moved to Tulling outside
Stockholm when she was 13 years old. It all started when she sang on her record company's
answering machine, they liked it so much that she got to do some demos.
She met Dr. Alban and he talked her into the Drömhus project. Drömhus was from the beginning meant to be a group, 2 guys and Therese. But nowadays Drömhus is just Therese. Therese didn't want to be the front person at first, she just wanted to be in the background and learn things.
1997
So in 1997 the first single "Du och Jag" was released. The single had
swedish vocals over a dreamhouse beat, and this was a very new and successful concept.
The single was played a lot on the radio and everyone kept wondering who the singer was,
it wasa well kept secret for a while.
1998
The second single to be released was "I Mina Drömmar", but it
wasn't until summer 1998 when the third single "Vill Ha Dig" was released
that she got her big breakthrough. "Vill Ha Dig" was a cover of a big swedish 80's hit
by the group Freestyle. The single was one of the most played songs in radio in summer
of 1998.The fourth single to be released was "Ge Upp" which was released in the fall of 1998.
Her first album "Drömmar" was released in 1998 and it was a big success, just like her singles was. Many of the singles sold platinum, the album sold gold and she was number one on several charts in Scandinavia.
1999
In the spring of 1999 Drömhus competed in the swedish Melodifestivalen, with
the song "Stjärna på Himmelen".She didn't win but she ended up at second place. When "Stjärna på Himmelen" was released on single it became a big success. Then the single "Varje steg" was released in the summer of 1999 and it has been doing very well on charts.
On August 9th, 1999 the second album "Längtan" was released. This album is more mature and slower than the first album was, but it still have the happy vibes and it's very danceable. Therese vocals has also developed more since the last album.
On September 27th, 1999 the single "Hålla Dig Nära" was released, and soon after that the remix single was released.
2000
On February 7th, 2000 "Du Kan Ge" was released as a single.
Message from Therese:
"As you might know i'll quit Drömhus very soon. From now on I will perform under
my own name Therese.
I want to thank you of all my heart for these two years.
Without you I would never have come this far!
I really hope that you'll keep supporting
me in this great way in the future too."
2001
The single "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" was released in April. Therese no longer
makes music under the nameDrömhus but under her real name.
After the single was released she took a long vacation away from the musicbusiness and the life as a celebrity so she could devote herself to write new material.
2002
Therese released the single "Monkey" on August 12th, the single became a big
clubhit in Sweden.On November 18th the single "I Need Somebody" was released.
2003
The album "Acapulco" was released on January 13th, 2003. The sound of the album is more like
Basement Jaxx and Moloko. She has also changed record company, songwriters and she has
also got herself a new producer, Klas Baggström.Therese released the single "Time" on November 12th.
2004
Therese together with Stonebridge released two singles, Put 'Em High and
Take Me Away, both singles did pretty good in the charts.
2007
Together with The Attic, she competed with the song The Arrival at Melodifestivalen
for the opportunity to represent Sweden in Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki, Finland.
Unfortunally they didn't qualify and ended up in 7th place in the semifinal.In May the single Feelin' Me was released.
Together with Danny she released the single If Only You.
