La Bouche It's about time for pop music to witness the comeback of male-female duos - Captain and Tenille, Ike and Tina, Marvin and Tammy, Sonny and Cher, Peaches and Herb... somehow the tradition lost its wings. Now, watch out for Germany's answer to the duo-revival,
La Bouche, featuring Melanie Thornton and D. Lane McCray Jr., fueled for the 90s with their own brand of pop, dance, and a twist of R&B.

After two gold singles in Germany, both of which have topped the European charts and gained massive radio play throughout Europe, Canada, and now the United States, La Bouche unleashes their debut album
"Sweet Dreams", which will bring them to the forefront of America's pop market to become the new sensation of the 90s.

Fate is the only explanation for Melanie and Lane's chance meeting in Frankfurt. Melanie "fled the gigantic anonymity of America" and went to Germany in the early 90s... lucky she did, or she would not have crossed paths with Lane, her future partner-in-pop. Lane, originally from the frosty land of Anchorage, Alaska, was stationed in Germany with the American Air Force. As an all-around entertainer in the states, Lane performed in musical theater and also proved himself as a rapper (Cold Cut). German audiences adored him as a singer and dancer, supporting Lane in establishing a name for himself.

Melanie studied voice from the age of six, and had long dreamed of a career in music. This femme fatale from Charleston, South Carolina completely wowed Europe with her southern charms and as a touring jazz and blues singer. Her voice was finally discovered by the FMP Studios team in Germany, and she was undoubtedly the perfect singer for their long dreamed of project, La Bouche. Lane, whom she had recently met and began performing with in a band called "Groovin' Affairs", had the talent and striking looks to compliment Melanie's diva-powered vocals and sultry beauty, thus completing the concept of La Bouche. She recalls "although we just began working together, the chemistry was perfect!"

Lane McCray After some silence La Bouche released a single called "You Won´t Forget Me" in October 1997 and on the 17 November the album "A Moment of Love" was released. The album contains 9 new songs, 3 remixes and, of course, "Bolingo" and "You Won't Forget Me". Most tracks on the album are uptempo dance tracks!

Later in 1998 La Bouche has released a single called "A Moment of Love".

La Bouche have finally released a single in February 1999, Germany was the first country where "S.O.S." hit the stores. "S.O.S." was the third single to be taken from the "A Moment Of Love" album, which dates back to 1997! Not many dance acts release a single of a 2 year old album, but a track like "S.O.S." was definitely worth a release!

So in April 2000, La Bouche released some new material with the single All I Want. With this single La Bouche is fronted by a the new singer Natascha Wright. Lane McCray is still going strong with his rap. The single was produced by Frank Farian.

Melanie Thornton died in a plane crash on November 24, 2001.
This was just 2 days before her new single and album was going to be released.

On April 29th, 2002 BMG Germany released an album of La Bouche feat. Melanie Thornton. This album includes the hits of La Bouche, the solo hits of the late Melanie Thornton, a videoclip of "Sweet Dreams" and two previously unreleased tracks of La Bouche.


Lane McCray worked on his debut solo album "Naked Songs In The Key Of Love", which was released 2002.

La Bouche feat. Melanie Thornton released a single on November 25th, 2002. The single "In Your Life", an
unreleased song composed by Melanie Thornton, reminds us of what a great singer Melanie was, whose first year death anniversary is on November 24th, 2002. There is a video and a best of Album along with the single.

"In Your Life" was released on April 1st, 2003 in the US.
