RMB is the project name of two producers, Rolf Maier-Bode and Farid Gharadjedhi.
Farid was born in Persia with aristocratic roots. In 1979 his parents brought him to Germany where
he grew up in Düsseldorf. While he was still at school he worked as
A&R for the label "Adam & Eve" where he then met Rolf who was
working as an artist. After he graduated from school Farid began
studying biology as he, like Rolf, is very interested in nature and
the environment.Rolf was born in Berlin, but grew up close to Düsseldorf. When he graduated from school he went on to complete his civilian service. As early as 1991 he cut his first record "Nautilus" on the Suck Me Plasma label. Both artists look back on some form of classical music education: Rolf studied piano for more than two years and Farid played the trumpet for nine years.
In 1993 RMB changed labels to Le Petit Prince where their two EPs "Heaven & Hell" and "Love" were cut. Shortly afterwards, at the end of 1993, they signed on with Low Spirit. This contract marked the beginning of their new success story. They made a name in the techno scene not only ("Somewhere over the rainbow") but also with their own RMB productions which stormed the German Media Control Charts. Since then they have certainly proved their talents as producers in the studio as well as at all the major raves including Mayday, Loveparade, Nature One and Rave City.
RMB fans know that these two young men are more than just studio squatters. Since 1994 Rolf and Farid have been living in a village in the Neandertal valley where they have a little house and very big garden. As they are both nature lovers and are involved in environmental organizations, it is hardly surprising that they were members of the Greenpeace fleet that demonstrated at the Mururoa Atoll.
Although highly involved in environmental issues these two artists remain committed to their musical projects as the results of their concentrated studio work go to prove. In October 1996 the RMB single "Spring" received a gold award (with sales of over 250:000) and their following single "Reality" reached number eleven in the Media Control Charts. The RMB project is still bursting with hit potential and everyone is eagerly awaiting their latest album.
In the end of May 1997 they released a single called "Break the Silence".
In February 1998 RMB released the single "Shadows", featuring Sharam and in March 1998 the 2nd longawaited album "Widescreen" was released after being postponed several times.
After a long silence the single "Deep Down Below" was released as a promo in the end of 2000 and was then released officialy in the beginning of 2001.
The single "Horizon" was released on May 21th, 2001 and the remixes in June.
RMB released the cd-album "Mission Horizon" September 3rd, 2001.
RMB released a DVD called "Mission Horizon" on October 29th, 2001.
RMB released a vinyl called "Selected Works" in 2001.
RMB released "Redemption 2002" in 2002 and a new version of the
"Mission Horizon" album called
"Mission Horizon 2:0" was also released.
RMB feat. Talla 2XLC - "Spring" was released on July 21st. (DJ Hooligan/DAI)
Several artists made a tribute cd to RMB. It's called "RMB & Friends - A Tribute To RMB"
and was released August 4th on 2x12" and August 25th on CD.
The 12" "Touch The Sky / Feel The Flame" was released on September 4, 2003.
The 12" "Gangster/Killer" was released August 11, 2004.
The 12" "April / Beauty of Simplicity" was release December 1st, 2004.
